Keeping a kitchen clean is not that difficult if you work out a schedule and stick to it. Clean your countertops and remove any item or appliance you do not use at least once a week. Keep cookbooks to a minimum and store away the ones you don’t use on a regular basis. Store pots and pans in a cupboard close to the stove for easy access. Place baking sheets, cake pans, pizza pans, etc. in a cupboard beneath or next to the oven. You can use a rack to help arrange baking sheets by size and those used most often. Consider suspending pots and pans on a wall or from a ceiling mounted rack to maximize cabinet and storage space. This can look really great, particularly if you have some interesting pots that you want to display.

There aren’t too many people who don’t have a microwave and whether you choose to have a convection or just a plain microwave try and store microwave safe containers in a cabinet near the microwave. Arrange containers by size and stack one inside of the other if possible. Throw away any plastic containers that are no longer used. Anything that is still in good condition and can be sold, auctioned, or given away. If you feel that you have appliances that are in ‘as new’ condition and too good to throw out, consider OzFreeOnline.com as your newest partner in online classifieds. Log on and check out their free classified section where you can advertise anything you no longer have use for. Feeling generous then donate all the stuff you are no longer using by giving them to the salvos.org.au. They will collect anything in good condition.

It is time to get down on hands and knees and check under your sink. Most people keep cleaning supplies under here; some keep garbage cans, and still others, appliances. No matter what is under your sink, if you use it let it stay – if you don’t then just get rid of it. If it’s cleaning supplies, look and see what you have used and never used and what is just dried out and old. Just be remorseless throw it all out or pass it on to someone who might use the supplies. Organise your cabinets in the way that is best suited to you—what you use the most, what’s used less in the rear. If you do not have a dishwasher, remember to leave room for a large plastic container in which to put dirty dishes.

Some gardeners hate it – others gardeners, like me, cannot get enough of it. What am I talking about? Moss. Moss is a simple little plant that does not have conventional roots, stems, or leaves. Moss is any species of the class ‘Bryopsida’ and is part of the division ‘Bryophyta’. ‘Bryophyta’ means the first green land plants to develop during the evolutionary process. Moss is thought to have evolved from very primitive vascular plants. Dinosaurs may have munched their way through tons of it and it has been used by gardeners in ancient cities to supply the backdrop to many beautiful gardens, perhaps even in the ‘Hanging Gardens of Babylon’.

It is interesting that moss has not given rise to any other kind of plant.

Outdoor Christmas Decoration

Don’t buy anything yet. Measure your front yard and decide what types of decorations you want and where you would like to place them. Take photos and then draw sketches where you would like to string light, garlands, and where you might like to place decorations on the roof of your home. If you don’t want to light up the entire front yard, then find a focal point and begin your planning right three. Use trees or bushes that serve as the centre thereby taking a more systematic approach, which will prevent you from having to move items around later.
