The coming of age of classifieds sites, with categories ranging from education, job openings to personal ads posting have opened opportunities to communicate and transact with other people all over the planet. The Internet have also become a platform for self expression of their true or make believe persona. It’s also the new avenue for meeting people, though it’s vulnerability is at high risk.

In a study done by Douglas Raybeck, Ph.D., a professor of anthropology at Hamilton College in New York, he found out that the common denominator or personal ads posters create “meta-statements” about themselves. These meta-statements are not used to create a make believe persona but as a human nature to highlight out best traits. The limitation of the personal ad’s allowed text on description is one of the reasons to be inclined in mentioning the individual’s best qualities.

When it comes to dating, people have their own preference, which is used to set a certain standard for assumed compatibility or does it only limit your options?

Christmas season is fast approaching, this year avoid the Christmas rush and start shopping for gifts to your family and friends as early as October. Most of us are guilty of cramming and buying a gift for the sake of giving one. Or you might give a present then days later you’ll be filled with guilt or regret for overspending over it because you know it does not suit the recipient.
