The local airline Jetstar recently announced the arrangement and new decisions to assign 40 per cent of its 2011 online advertising budget to social media such as Twitter, Facebook and etc. There is lots of print advertiser who deciding to steps their business to the next level through social media.
This innovative strategy from Jetstar’s is set to be the next best thing in regards with the Australian online classifieds and across the globe. According to specialist this will certainly boom in every aspect. Advertiser asking question like “Why pay big dollars to an ad agency when you can create your own inexpensive in-house campaign and get your nephew to launch it on YouTube and Twitter?”
Recent report from Nielsen 2010 Social Media Report released that almost 5 million Australians have been using social media to advertise their business through the world. Using Facebook and Twitter makes their business fast and easy as millions of people are using the Internet.
Jetstar’s move fits the trend in which large US advertisers such as Unilever, Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble are now into online classifieds advertising through the use of social media.
From the recent survey from US companies in December by issuing analyst Outsell that predicted online advertising would outstrip print in 2010.
